VMC Chinu Hooks (with eye)

Chinu hooks are short-shanked, heavy-gauge fishing hooks with a wide gape, a slightly beaked (turned-in) point, and a relatively large barb that prevents the hook from pulling out.

Originally designed in Japan for targeting large, hard-fighting fish species with relatively small mouths, these strong hooks resist bending and opening.

The Chinu hook offers outstanding hook-holding power while allowing natural bait presentations with everything from live prawn, worm, and crab baits to fish and squid. Its turned-out eye makes it ideal for conventional knotting methods, and equally effective when snelled for maximum strength.

These are the perfect hooks to use with live prawns for barramundi and mangrove snapper, and they’re also great for a variety of freshwater applications, especially for Rohu, Catla, Pacu etc. The smaller sizes (#1 & #2) are perfect for Ultra-lite fishing.
Note: these hooks are sized in reverse viz. #9 is bigger than #1
